Hello, and welcome to Celiac and Me!

This website aims to engage and educate patients with celiac disease as well as family members, friends, and health educators, and is a collaboration between students enrolled in the Immunology course at Carleton College and their community partners.

Click on the images or use the menu above to explore the relationship between celiac and you. Although the activities were designed to help pre-K through high school students understand celiac disease and advocate for themselves, they will also be informative and enjoyable for adults. The model building activity is appropriate for ages 6 and up, but can be adapted for use with a wide variety of ages and abilities. Pre-K through adults will enjoy the “What’s Up With My Gut” picture book, and students from 4th grade through high school will learn from the movie and/or be able to adapt the PowerPoint to generate their own presentation with adult supervision. The “Scientific Information” page provides scientific details about the activity of the immune system in celiac disease and is geared towards high school aged students and adults.
